Lingan has the distinction of offering its members the option to play at two championship courses.  Since this unique partnership began in 2009, Lingan members have had the best of what golf has to offer.  This privilege has continued for 2013.  Now each individual member at Lingan may decide for themselves if they would like the option to play Bell Bay this season.  All levels of membership now has the option to add on Bell Bay to thier current membership or decide to just play Lingan.  Bell Bay Option Rates.  What does it offer you?

• Two fleets of new power carts.  If you prefer to enjoy a power cart rather than a walk, both clubs offer them and those at Lingan are equipped with GPS, providing the golfer with the accurate distance from the ball to the green.
• Two of the best practice facilities on the Island, each with a driving range, putting and chipping greens, and practice sand traps.

ADDED BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

In addition to the choice of where to play - Lingan or Bell Bay, there are other benefits to having a Lingan membership:

• a 25 % discount on clothing purchased from the Professional Shop;
• discounted pricing on range balls, power cart rentals, and tournament entry fees;
• a 15% discount of food purchases at Flavor 19, located inside the clubhouse, and at Flavor's downtown location;

• a Family Membership Plan, whereby a member may sign up his/her child for an additional $50 plus HST per child; and
• a Member/Guest Program, which allows a member the opportunity to take up to three guests for complimentary golf on Saturday and Sunday evenings to offer them an introduction to the game of golf.

Family Membership Plan     $50 per child + HST added to cost of an adult, couples, or introductory members

To be eligible a child must have reached the age of 8 years before May 1, 2013 and have not reached the age of 19 years before May 1, 2013

• At the time of registration parents and/or guardians will be required to provide a birth certificate or other recognized form of identification for their child/children
• Juniors participating in the Family Membership Plan must have parents or guardians who hold current adult full playing or couples full paying membership at Lingan
• Bag tag must be displayed at all times

NEW PROGRAMS FOR 2013

We are excited about the changes coming to our ladies programs.  In 2013 Lingan will continue its Thursday Morning Ladies League which is open to members and non-members.  Ladies golf will continue on Thursday evenings throughout the season at our Working Girls Evening League, also open to members and non-members.  However, you don't have to be a working girl to participate.  Perhaps you're a mom who has been home all day with your small children and need some "me time".  Call our Professional Shop at 562-1112 or email donnie.rowe@lingangolf.com for details.


MEN'S LEAGUES

As in the past, Lingan will continue to run its popular Tuesday Night Men's League - open to members and non-members. 

Again, Wednesday mornings are set aside for the Senior Men's League - starting at 9:00 a.m. and open to members only.


CHARITY EVENTS AND COMMUNITY FUNDRAISERS

For many years Lingan has been the home for many groups who have used our facilities to hold charity golf tournaments and the tradition will continue this year.  A Par Three Charity Challenge was initiated in 2010 by the board of directors and this past season the second annual challange was presented in support of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cape Breton.  A similar challenge is in the plans for this year and we expect an even more successful outcome.

2011 saw the start of a new tradition when the Lingan Scholarship Program is launched.  This program will provide scholarships to our local high schools.  Glace Bay High School, Sydney Acadmey, and Breton Education Centre all hosted events.  over $6000 in scholarships in the name of Lingan Golf Club were presented to deserving high school seniors in the Cape Breton area.  Planning is already underway for the second year of this worthy event.
