Ladies' Day

We are excited about our ladies programs.  Lingan will continue its Thursday Morning Ladies Day which is open to members and non-members.  This event received some much needed life interjected this year with the change to a non-competitive format and the addition of some after golf social gatherings.  To date the ladies have hosted line dancing, Zumba classes, bridge games and a fashion show.  Plans to host other events along with the golf are in the works.

Men's Leagues

As in the past, Lingan will continue to run its popular Tuesday Night Men's League - open to members and non-members.  Sponsored by Flavor 19 amd Meco Construction, the two man teams may play anytime on that day and turn in their 9 hole best ball scorecard for a chance at gross, net and draw prizes.  The league runs for 16 weeks and concludes with a final 18 hole tournament with over $10 000 worth of draw prizes given out to the league participants.  Anyone who might be interested in playing in the Flavor 19 Men's League can contact the Lingan Golf Pro Shop at 902-562-1112 for more information.

Wednesday mornings are set aside for the Senior Men's League - starting at 9:00 a.m. and open to members and guests.  The cost to play is $5 with prizes awarded for gross and net scores.  The league runs for 18 weeks and concludes with a closing tournament and banquet.  Anyone who might be interested in playing in the Senior Men's League can contact the Lingan Golf Pro Shop at 902-562-1112 for more information.

Charity Events and Community Fundraisers

For many years Lingan has been the home for many groups who have used our facilities to hold charity golf tournaments and the tradition will continue this year.  A Par Three Charity Challenge was initiated in 2010 by the board of directors and the annual challenge was presented in support of Loaves and Fishes.  This years event is in the planning stages with the event scheduled to take place in late August or early September in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

2011 saw the start of a new tradition when the Lingan Scholarship Program is launched.  This program will provide scholarships to our local high schools.  Glace Bay High School, Sydney Academy, and Breton Education Center all hosted events.  Over $25,000 in scholarships in the name of Lingan Golf Club were presented to deserving high school seniors in the Cape Breton area.  Planning is already underway for the ninth year of this worthy event.

If you are interested in using our facilities to hold your private or charity event, call our general manager Donnie Rowe at 902-562-5100 or email:  d.rowe@lingangolf.com.  His many years of experience assisting with such events are sure to make your occasion a success.  Lingan has an experienced and courteous staff and first-class facilities on and off the course to meet all of your golfing and entertainment needs.
